On his website, Obama manages not to say how he would finance his ambitious plan. But other sources say he plans to pay for the plan partly by raising taxes (or not going through with a planned reduction in taxes). Here's the Times:
Mr. Edwards and Mr. Obama call for financing their plans with revenue from ending the Bush tax cuts for the wealthiest Americans; those cuts are set to expire in 2010.
Raise taxes to pay for plan: Sen. Barack Obama: Yes
The experts also said Obama could pay for his plan mostly through steps that the candidate has already said he would take -- allowing President Bush's tax cuts on dividends and capital gains and on those making more than about $250,000 a year to expire in 2010 instead of acting to make them permanent. The rest of the $65 billion funding could come by raising taxes on inheritances worth more than $7 million. Many Democrats want to repeal Bush's elimination of taxes on estates worth more than $1 million. Obama wants the exemption to be higher but has not yet said exactly where it should be set.

As a consumer, if I am paying less for the same health care, then duh, Just look at the benefits package costs to employees by their emplyer versus what the actual tax raise will be.
The fact is this "raise taxes" is a scare tactic. The lower class(major voting block) aren't told the hard numbers and what exactly they will be paying vs. what they are paying now. Once again, rich people don't want to be paying the chunk of the bill for the poor. Much like education, car insurance, and law enforcement they don't understand why all those pesky poor people just take, take and take. It's greed. One must love america.
