    Yes
But, when will the proposal become activated ?

I believe his logic. I know there are a lot of infrastructure projects on hold here in MN. They will certainly put money into the economy in short order.

No, not enough jobs will be created
So far all I see are things like this in the Stimulus Plan by Obama: $160 million to pay "volunteers" at the Corporation for National and Community Service. $45 million dollars for the removal of fish...

It would be nice if it did, but I don't think there will be enough new jobs created, nor do I think that most of them will be long-term permanent jobs.

No, the jobs won't come online fast enough
Not only that but when these jobs DO come online, the recovery will have already started & all that stimulus spending will send inflation through the roof!

And...where are we going to get the money to do that?

No, government jobs won't impact the recession's duration
History has proven this idea ineffective. Totally wrong approach.

The answer I would choose is not here. My answer would be "No, government plans to create jobs will increase the length of the recession." -Just like similar plans always have done.
