I like JZipp's suggestion of:
Will the July 2008 issue of Italian Vogue prompt American publications to feature more black models?
There's definitely a second issue with discrimination, but I'd like to see a discussion of the actual Vogue issue first. (And like Marinaz, I'd be worried that there wouldn't be PF evidence to the contrary regarding the discrimination issue.) Anyway, Jezebel has a good "guided tour" of the magazine.
Good and timely issue. I'm thinking that both the Italian Vogue issue and the more general discrimination-against-black-models issue could work, since one is so much broader than the other and they're really asking two different things.
We'd probably find more public figure evidence for the second issue. I'm wondering if anyone would say "no," though...
Meanwhile, aside from my earlier wording suggestion of:
We could also go with:
Does the fashion industry discriminate against black models?
That might be a slightly controversial wording, of course... and possibly a bit bias. Oh, and just to clarify... JZipp = "he"
random question for anybody, how can I find whereistand.com widget so I can post it on my blog?
I am cool with her wording.

Gotcha. Maybe we can do two separate issues. Okay, let's take one at a time. I think JZipp's suggestion below is a good start to clean up the wording a tad.
I raised the same issue in an article that I wrote for another website. I like the questions but it is slightly different than what I am getting at. I think it would be a good follow up question.
Cool issue. How about... Will Barack Obama's success prompt American magazine to feature more black models? It may come off as a little random to some, but I overheard someone in the media talking about new fashion lines being designed after Obama. His success is really influencing the Fashion industry in many ways, who would have thought?
At first glance, it seems more media personalities are weighing-in on descrimination in the fashion industry versus the effects this specific issue will have worldwide. Maybe we could refashion (no pun intended) this to focus on the discrimination problem? From The Telegraph:
Leading black figures, including models, designers and agents, have now formed a protest group in New York to highlight the problem of racism in the industry. Italian Vogue's editor, Franca Sozzani, said her decision was influenced by the New York group, as well as by Barack Obama's success in the US presidential primaries. Meisel photographed several of the black fashion world's biggest names for the issue, including Naomi Campbell, Iman, Tyra Banks, Liya Kebede, Jourdan Dunn, Alek Wek and Pat Cleveland. Meisel said: "I thought, it's ridiculous, this discrimination. It's so crazy to live in such a narrow, narrow place. Age, weight, sexuality, race - every kind of prejudice. "I have asked my advertising clients so many times, 'Can we use a black girl?' They say no." Naomi Campbell has also spoken out several times on her concern that black models are "sidelined" by the major modelling agencies. Italian Vogue's all-black issue is unlikely to be emulated by its US sister magazine, but American Vogue is planning to run an article about the lack of black models.
Interesting issue! Suggested rewording:
I'd love to find some sample evidence / opinions from public figures on this debate... I'll take a look to see what I can uncover.
