Shouldn't we be more specific about the versions of each as well.
Which browser is more secure?
Firefox 2 or 3
IE 7.0

The main problem is not which is more secure inherantly, But more importently how are security issues delt with by the respective browsers security teams, as to how often they release patches, and how often there are holes to be patched. and how big the holes are. as no browser will ever be completly secure, its always a catch -up game, it who keep up the most and keeps security as up to date as possible.

It would definitely be unfair to exclude Safari.
Not sure how we could specify the security, to address Brian's comment to make it less vague. Aree there differen kinds of security that a browser would be better for one thing but worse for another?

Marinaz, that's why I figured it was best to go with "which is most secure" and list more than just the two options... that way any editorials / breakdowns could be considered evidence... but that still leaves Brian's "too vague" comment as cause for concern...

Is there more to the debate (evidence-wise) than just this one study comparing the number of vulnerabilities that were fixed by each browser?

Interesting issue. Is it too vague?

Maybe we could ask "which major browser is the most secure?" -Mozilla Firefox -Microsoft Internet Explorer -Apple Safari Netscape went belly-up, I believe... and Mozilla recently attacked Safari...

The wording doesn't sound too fun. Maybe "Is Firefox more secure than IE?"
