    This link shows just how divisive the issue has become.  I think bailout is the proper term but have no objection to softening it to assist or help.  Either way this will be a hot issue in the upcoming caucuses, especially in states with big subprime issues, with plenty of opinions on both sides.

    I had suggested a similar issue here, but that got pretty bogged down. I like this as shorter and sweeter. We should, however, cross-link to Financial Service/Banking/Lending.

     

    Also, since "bail out" implies a lot, and "help" implies a little, how about this wording:

     

    "Should the Federal Government assist mortgage defaulters?"

    Upon re-reading the evidence it's not like they're proposing the government just pay these mortgages; they're proposing rate freezes and 90-day moratoriums on foreclosures. Not exactly "bailing out" defaulters. (Sort of a biased term really) But if we are using it, we should at least modify it with "help."
