    Do we need a year?  Like, "Should Vladimir Putin be Time's 2007 Person of the Year?"

    So, essentially you're saying Time chose someone that could lead to complaints from everybody...

    One might even dare say that angry people will "take a stand"...

    I'm simply thinking: it's a good issue...

    There will be a lot of backlash on this from the right wing saying General "Betray Us" should have been chosen and from the left wing I'm sure they'll kick and scream about Al Gore.

    Sample Evidence:

    If I were the editor of Time magazine, I'd have three men on the famous year-ending issue. My men of the year would be Gen. David Petraeus, with Sen. John McCain and Joe Lieberman as his Beltway wingmen.
