I can accept that I'm not supposed to want to debate this issue. However, I also don't care what anybody else's opinion on this issue is. We might as well ask,
Do you prefer slot-loading toasters or toaster ovens?
this isn't a debate issue... it's a pigeonholing issue. Not every issue needs to be debatable and it would be good to know when we consider public figures in media and tech to know whether they use RSS
where is the debate? i smell market research here!!!!!

Is this debatable? Everyone loves RSS who knows about it . I don't see the issue here.

It's a good question Nick, and RSS is something I don't think enough people know about. I use RSS through Google, AIM and on my pocket PC. Priceless tool, but I really don't think the "difinitive" aggregator has been created yet which will bring the tech to a real mass audience.

I read a couple of websites in LiveJournal via a feed that has one of those little orange 'XML' button next to it, have a couple of links on my Google home page to websites via XML content feeds, but it's not anything that I would say I use regularly. And not really something that I seek out either, moreso I see the button and click on it.

I don't know about RSS
this is relevant because I'm setting up those little orange "xml" buttons next week.
if people say yes, I'm going to ask what readers they usea. "I use my browser or other program on my computer."b. "I Use a Web-based reader."
if they say no, I'm going to ask whya. "I know about RSS but choose not to use it."b. "I don't know about RSS."
