    Looks good.

    I initially questioned whether there would be "no" stands, since the U.S. is already engaged with Syria in a way it isn't with Iran for example, but it's mostly about the U.S. saying to Syria "C'mon, help us out, be nice," and Syria saying, "Sure!  And for being nice we get....?"  And that's when the U.S. says uh nothing.  So I think "negotiate" connotes "give up something in exchange for getting something," and that it works as-is.
