I played around with the wording a little because I didn't like the word "traits," it was too wrapped up with genetics, where it has a specific meaning. Not a huge fan of "factors" either, but the only other word I could think of was "input," which sounds like we're talking about a computer.

One of my favorite all-time issues. I think esperanto's most recent post ("innate traits" vs "environmental factors") works fine.
I don't like "upbringing," it hews too close to "parenting," and it's really a lot more than that. "Surroundings" to me sounds like your neighborhood. You're right about "inherited" though, it's not quite right either. I was getting at the debate of genetic determinism versus, uh, environmental determinism, I guess, but I suppose that's not all there is to it. How about this (which parallels a similar issue on sexual orientation):
Which has a greater influence on human behavior? -Innate traits -Environmental factors
Its funny, I don't know why, but whenever I read the word environment I would first think of trees and forests. I personally would prefer the word "surroundings" or "upbringing". And maybe instead of or in addition to "inherited traits" there could be "innate" traits. (Sometimes random mutations can occur in someone and they can have a phenotypic response that they didn't inherit from anybody).
I hate "nature vs. nurture," I only included them as options in case we were afraid people wouldn't understand this otherwise. They're meaningless buzzwords that drastically oversimplify this issue and I will absolutely not coutnenance their anointment as answer choices. I say we just get rid of them and leave it as "inherited traits/environment" unless somebody can come up with something better.

or just do: Which has a greater influence on human behavior Nature Nurture
i love this issue. but maybe lose the nature v. nurture. it will make it difficult to do affirmative statements for this issue once it's approved.
You stole my issue I've sent no less than 3 missiles at you, enjoy them theoretically.
