sacrifice is too loaded a term and brian's revision frames the issue so that it seems biased in favor of liberty. i  have my doubts about this issue.  as worded it does not work because the question has no substance without the stands - i don't like that formulation.

    I still think

-Should we sacrifice liberty for security?

is more pertinent today and exciting for users to debate

Brian's formulation is the way we usually hear it, but Jacki's proposal is probably less biased. i'm cool with it.

i'm not crazy about the way the issue is proposed but i want to spark a debate re: liberty v. security and i want it to be on an abstract level so it's not clouded by politics.
